Wanna use your PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour guitar on the PC (or Guitar Hero 3)? Then this guide’s for you!

- Firstly, you’ll need to download some files!
- JoyToKey v3.79 from here | mirror 1 | mirror 2
- Download the PS3 Guitar config file here | mirror
- You need the Gibson Les Paul PS3 guitar and the game. Obviously.
- Okay, now extract the JoyToKey file and throw in the PS3 Guitar config file into the same folder where you extracted JoyToKey.

- Plug in the Guitar’s USB connector.
- Run JoyToKey and choose PS3 guitar.
- Run Guitar Hero 3/Aerosmith for the PC. (should work for Frets on Fire)
- Go to Options > Controller > Configure Keyboard and set it up this way
Green —– 1
Red —– 2
Yellow —– 3
Blue —– 4
Orange —– 5
Star Power —– 6
Whammy —– 7
Mouse Whammy —– X-Axis
Strum Up —– Button 1
Strum Down —– Button 0

Notes:
- Apparently the motion sensor does not work, when you want to do Star Power. You have to press the button. Well, World Tour’s guitar has the star power button which is easier to reach!
- Whammy works perfectly!
- Pressing “Enter” when asked to key name for High Score doesn’t seem to work either. I had to press “Backspace” on the keyboard.

I am running GH 3 PC with the latest patch (1.3.1 I think?), and my PS3 Les Paul guitar works without running JoyToKey. Only problem is that can’t get star power, but can play 2-player.
Hey guys, this program isnt made for the controller it self. It’s made for all Gamepads, Stearing Wheels, joysticks, PS3 Controllers, Xbox, you made it. what ever comes up in your Game Controllers list in the control Panel Will work here.
So you use your Ps3 Guitar that came with GH3 it will work :) just load the Script given and it will work Only cause the GH4 and GH3 has the Exact same Key information.

I’m having a problem, the game always get my guitar and set to player 2, so when I try to play at the music, the guitar doesn’t fuction properly, what i have to do to set the guitar in player 1 ??? I used the tutorial, when I player in coop play, the guitar function correctly!!! Please anyone help me!!!
What guitar you are using from? ps3?
Wait i just found out somthing, if you are using this method dont download the v1.3 patch for GH3 as soon as you install it the guitar stops working but i think the v1.1 patch works fine

Just use the big select button behind the whammy bar for star power, it’s already mapped in that cfg file.
Oh and as mentioned, make sure to use patch v1.1 not newer.
I had to disconnect my 360 controller if I wanted to play with the guitar. I’m on seven x64. I can let plug 360 controller + PS3 guitar.

You have to set it up like how I told you in the menu.. read the guide again.
