Thanks for the green crap.

18 08 2007

Went back home early on Tuesday to get to pre-sale tickets for The Killers show in Melbourne but General admission is sold out. Friday morning was the general sales so I see tons of people lining up at the Ticketek booth. Sigh, I’m not that into The Killers yet. It’s gonna be on exam week anyways :x. It was Ken’s bday bash on Friday. Luckily I didn’t get drunk or else I can’t imagine what I’ll be doing this time…. And I just realized we were missing something….Beer! Nothing much happened in the end of the day, everyone survived and we didn’t finish the all the alcohol. I just found out that we drank the absinthe the wrong way, without adding water to it. ‘The Green Fairy’ drink tasted really bad. This is how it should be done…and it would taste so much better….so much for being noobs!

Anberlin!!!!

10 06 2007

Went to Anberlin’s intimate gig last night at Corner Hotel. The show was awesome. It was power performance since the beginning when they played “A Whisper And A Clamor” to get everyone to clap their hands and go there were intense moshing right at the back but I was right at the front so it was pretty OK for me =D. They played most of my favourite songs and a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep!” from the AOL under cover session. I was quite nice seeing them play acoustics and everyone just sang along to “The Unwindling Cable Car” and “dismantle.repair”. The most pops were “Adelaide”, “Godspeed” and songs from the old album such as “Paperthin Hymn” and “Never Take Friendship Personal”. I’ve gotta say they sound really awesome live, much louder and it was fuckin good. Copeland gave quite a performance but Angela’s Dish was dissapointing, I think they need a better vocalist. Copeland is pretty good listen for those who dig Death Cab for Cutie. Looking forward to Bullet for My Valentine and most likely to attend Fall Out Boy and Jack’s Mannequin show in September.

Some pics I took are on Flickr here.

On a more personal note, I’ve began to hate indecisive people. I know it’s hard to make decisions and those suffering from it can often spend whole days in the house or garden, or right in front of the computer unable to decide what they should do. Study or relax. Obviously, understanding what you want to achieve and stop trying to get more information on something will help with indecisive people. Make your own choices and hope for the better. Life’s not perfect, there are risks but it’s not the end of the world. I’m quite indecisive myself but seeing as things go, I’m starting to make better and smarter choices for myself. Take control of your life. Back to some studies, peace. xoxoxo

There is no antidote to the Poison

5 06 2007

bulletedGuess what, Bullet for My Valentine is coming down south and I’m all pumped up ready for it. Just got the tickets today, It’ll be a great, wild night! Anberlin is this Saturday, won’t be disappointed I hope *crosses finger* (due to sucky bands Angela’s Dish and not-my-type-of-music Copeland). But again, BFMV!

Exams are around the corner all right but recently I’ve been playing lots of games, especially since Tomb Raider Anniversary was out few days ago. Did I tell you I’m a Tomb Raider addict, I dig Tomb Raider series, played ‘em all, watched ‘em all, this remake of the 1st game is totally unbelievable beautiful. I remember the first day when I’ve got my PS1 (yes, the grey big chunky one), Tomb Raider was one of first few games I tried, it totally kicks ass. But I didn’t finish the game because it was too tough, maybe cuz my brain cells wasn’t fully developed at that time or I’m just plain dumb. I’ve gotta thank Eidos and Crystal Dynamics for letting me finish off the game!

OK, so now studies isn’t working out very well, I’m kinda slacking these days due to boredom from last week’s constant study. My brain’s outta juice so…..hope for the best. I’m quite confident though. Peace.

From Yesterday…

3 05 2007

So it was finally the night 30 seconds to mars were to perform at Festival Hall. To me the place was quite a stinkhole, looks crappy but meh…it does the job quite well. I pity those who only get to see the band from seats, I think the view down at the mosh pit was great. Although it was kinda packed, there were minors and gals who couldn’t take the heat. I don’t feel sorry for some of them, mostly were so FAT (and weak, but most were just FAT ones) Many got carried away by the security guards….they had so much trouble trying to get them out. Crowd was fantastic and the atmosphere was great.

30 Seconds To Mars took their own sweet time coming on stage. It was worth it, their set this time was more of a chinese themed set with red lanterns, and chinese wordings (and some jade stuff on the microphone). The opener was great, they played some intro song and everyone was hyped before entering into ‘A Beautiful Lie’ followed on by ‘Battle of One’. I thought the openers were the best I’ve seen so far. Leto’s voice was quite impressive and I prefer it live rather than the album version. They played most of the songs from A Beautiful Lie but there were quite a few from the 1st album. Buddha For Mary, The Mission and two or more songs which I’ve forgotten. During ‘The Kill’, Jared went into the crowd but quickly went back up on stage. Brilliant song.

Jared played ‘A Modern Myth‘ on the guitar and another one acoustic piece, ‘Capricorn’ before the rest of the band came back on for the last two songs. They kept ‘Attack’ until the end and ended with an explosion of red mini-paper stuff from the ceiling. It felt so Chinese New Year to me. xD

They promised to sign everyone’s merchandise and lucky me that I brought the album with me. Got them to sign on the album cover. Great band and I’m looking forward to see them again but too bad no photos with them. Awww…..

Billy Talent!

26 04 2007

I went to Billy Talent’s gig! It was so awesome, they totally rocked the whole place and the crowd was amazing. Lucky for me I was quite in front of the whole crowd since I didn’t budge from City On Fire’s performance. They were quite good and the vocalist sounds a bit like Taking Back Sunday. Anyways, the place was so fucking crowded and it was lucky to have the Billy Talent and the security throwing and spraying water at us. Enough talk, time for photos. :D
