Langkawi: Day 2 and 3

2 01 2007

Well to tell you guys the truth, I can’t really remember much because the trip was quite some time ago….(not really long but my memory ain’t that good). Anyways…the most memorable event was that Ken got pawned by the monkey. We were coming down the hill after visiting some waterfall and the monkey started dashing to Ken because he had 2 cans of drink. The funny thing is I actually warned him that the monkey is coming after him, which really happened. Ken threw the cans at the monkey at dashed away from the big fella just like a big pussy! LOL!

Had lunch at some place in a mangrove swamp area called Barn Thai…which can be found in Thailand as well. Anyways the place was very interesting but the good wasn’t that good.

Jellyfish!!! We saw 2 jellyfish right at the beach and we didn’t go to the beach at all…except for some visitng at the Datai (some expensive resort up in the hills). Eventually we went swimming at the pool which was very shallow….but it was fun (Luckily my pants was still intact..).

Other than that, we went to eat at Mamak stalls in Kuah Town because most of the guys was running low on cash -_-. Did some chocolate shopping and drank some beer and played cards in the hotel.

Bah, the next day was quite bad….mainly because of the ferry ride. The bloody damn air-con is ROSAK. Air-con rosak and sitting in the ferry with like 100 people!! It was a torture for everyone and this made me sick in the end. Bad ferry ride. Tsk tsk tsk…anyways, reached home and basically slept like a pig. A very enjoyable but tiring trip!

Langkawi: Day 1

30 12 2006

It’s been quite some time since my last update…Anyways…here goes.

Things have been rough everyday since Ken has been here. Langkawi was quite a trip. We had to take the bus at 11pm and reached the jetty at 5am. Luckily I had some sleep in the bus but it wasn’t enough! Also, we had quite a day running around to get the bus ticket for Andrew as he decided to follow us to Langkawi after some persuading. Bus tickets were all gone and Andrew had to take another bus to get there but I found out that Thean had dengue fever -___- which made him unable to go for the Langkawi trip. Poor Thean!!!!! But Andrew was in luck so he had a spot on the bus with the rest of us! Lucky FCUK!

Anyways…the ferry we took in the morning at 6am was pretty OK. Except for the movie they were playing…it was Nacho Libre….in lousy VCD quality! Nothing really bad about the movie but it was all jittery and shit because the ferry was hitting some big waves and yeah it went kaput. Arrived there quite around 7am and we rented a Toyota Unser. We had some serious negotiations with the Malay dude who basically controls all the car rental service there. Mr. Lebai Rosli….so…from RM 220 a day to RM 170 and eventually RM 160. Lim Chang Hua was in charge of this aggressive negotiation.

The hotel’s check in time was 3pm so….we had a lot of time to spare. First we had to EAT! Everybody had a nice brekky and we started our journey driving around Langkawi Island. Joseph was assigned as ‘Navigator’ and Allan was our ‘Driver’. The RM 3.50 map saved our asses throughout the whole journey.

We visited some places like Galeria Perdana which has almost all Tun Mahatir’s barang-barang, some waterfall place and little places which I forgot. Didn’t do much after checking into the hotel because everybody was exhausted from the whole journey especially Ken and Andrew because they didn’t have any sleep due to intensive bus rides. They took bus from Singapore to KL and from KL to the jetty in Kedah.

Dinner in Kuah Town and looked around in the duty-free shops. Sleep after that.

Updates later…

Exam results. Busy days.

8 12 2006

Wow, its almost a week that I’m back in Malaysia and I haven’t complained about boredom at all. I’ve been going out each day and the next thing I know is the exam results are out already. As expected, I managed to pass every thing. And there weren’t any P’s so I’m super happy this time. I feel like partying but it’s almost 5am now so I’ll have to save it for later.

These few days has been really tiring, especially for my stomach. Food, food and food. Bringing Ken around KL was quite fun, especially visiting key attraction places in the city (which I’ve not been myself. I know, I’m a hopeless M’sian). So..we went to places like KL tower, the Petronas Twin Towers and the National Monument. I never been to KL tower and the Tugu Negara…so it was quite fun lol.

Ahh food, good ol hawker food. Once we touched down in KL, we had Hokkien Mee, satay, grilled fish and all the usual stuff we could find for supper. So many food and drinks which makes me wish for a larger stomach =D. Anyways, I get to meet Deniece after so long. She drove us around in KL, not to mention some wrong turns which led us to wrong places! It was all fun and I look forward to more fun for the coming days. STPM is over so….here I come peeps!
